Owl City

Yesterday I got the priveledge of meeting the band Owl City. Most people would know their name from their most popular song "Fireflies". The  synthepop band is led by singer Adam Young, from Owatonna,  Minnesota. The project was originally discovered on MySpace. Adam Young writes his music on an acoustic guitar and then edits it over a software program called Logic, the finished product is what you hear on songs like "Fireflies" and "Good Time" featuring Carly Rae Jepsen.
At the mini-concert he performed "Good Time" and "Shooting Star", off the new album The Midsummer Station. And, of course, "Fireflies" was played as well.
He also played at La Zona Rosa in Austin that evening. The backround featured wooden board walls with strobe lights flashing between the cracks in the boards. The vocals were right on key and the energy of the band exerted to the crowd was unbelievable. This is definitely a concert to experience if you like bands like The Postal Service, Relient K or The Ready Set.
