Zevia Review/GIVEAWAY

My dad was diagnosed with diabetes three years ago. Three years ago he had to kiss sodas and sweets goodbye. But now he has plenty of options with all the flavors that Zevia offers. They have ZERO SUGAR, ZERO CALORIES and only 7 Carbs which I’m sure my dad would love. These drinks contain no Aspartame!!

Black Cherry – sweet and delicious. You get the typical carbonation of a soda, but without all the sugar and carbs. The cherry flavor is just right, not overpowering and not too subtle.

Mountain Zevia –  I’m a diehard fan of Mountain Dew, Sprite, 7Up…you get the idea… So this was my first choice drink. It smells citrusy; you can taste the stevia [sweetener] which I really like. It has a slight lingering aftertaste, but it doesn’t leave you thirsty like some sodas do.

Dr. Zevia – This is just like Dr. Pepper or Mr.Pibb, again, without the Aspartame and with the Stevia. Sweet but not an overwhelming taste. Cured my thirst and tasted pleasant in the process!

Caffeine Free Cola – looked and tasted like the name brand colas. Same color and everything, definitely the way to go for an easy transition to healthy alternatives.

Orange – This was delightfully refreshing. It had a good citrusy flavor and was very sweet (just the way I prefer my sodas!!). Some of the Zevia has 20mg of Sodium; however, this one had none.

Grapefruit Citrus - This tastes just like fresh squeezed grape fruit juice that's carbonated! It's tart but with the stevia, it's a perfect blend of tart and sweet!

This is a product I would recommend to anyone and everyone! Its a great substitute for the typical sodas that have way too much sugar, carbs and calories. I didn't even know something like this existed until I got the opportunity to try it! My four year old daughter approves of all the flavors as well, she helped me taste test each and every one so I know kids and adults alike will enjoy the variety of flavors offered by Zevia. Check out their website HERE. Luckily, we also have the opportunity [Thanks, ZEVIA!] to giveaway an assorted pack of flavors to one lucky reader! :) Please see entry details below, good luck & thank you for being a Simply Saving fan!!!

The Tea Spot

My family LOVES tea. I mean, we drink roughly 3 pitchers a day. So when I found The Tea Spot, I was surprised to find REAL TEA! It’s not like prepackaged Lipton; they have everything from Steepware to loose leaf teas. I was immediately drawn to the Thin Mint Green Tea and the Bolder Breakfast Tea [we like a bit of contrast in our teas].

The thin mint green tea is a Japanese green tea with peppermint and it smells so fresh and sweet when you open the package. It reminds me of those Andes Mints that always come out around Christmas time. I steeped just a cup to try and it tastes so refreshing!  I ended up drinking three more cups throughout the day! The peppermint taste is not overpowering, it leaves a reinvigorated feeling on your tongue and I can’t wait to get more! Check out the thin mint green tea HERE.

The bolder breakfast tea was certainly a contrast from the thin mint! It was a stronger black tea but with the delectable taste of chocolate! Steeping this tea can make your entire kitchen smell delicious! I’ve been taking it to work with me and about four hours into my shift I’ll drink a cup. Some of the benefits of this tea are fighting fatigue and boosting energy levels and it’s way better for you than all those energy drinks with too much sugar! Besides, it’s considerably cheaper; about $0.22/serving!  Check out the bolder breakfast tea HERE.

I was extremely impressed with The Tea Spots wide variety and excellent, personable customer service! For all of the Simply Saving Fans & The Tea Spot fans out there, they are offering 15% off any order between now and October 23rd if you use coupon code: SIMPLYSAVINGTEA J Enjoy!

Safety Tat Review

Kids love tattoos! So I was eager to review the Custom Quick Stick tattoos! These are a genius idea!!!!! If you are the “worry wart” type of parent like me [guilty!], these custom tats are going to help ease the worrying. I am taking my daughter to Disneyland in May 2013, She is GOING to have one of these tattoos on her arm JUST in case. Better to be safe than sorry! My daughter is four currently, and she is able to say my phone number but she always adds one extra number, making it extremely difficult should someone need to know it. So this product is the perfect solution!

They are comprised of a micro-thin elastomer with medical grade adhesive that is hypoallergenic and skin safe! It was easy to apply; they come with sanitizing wipes used to clean the skin before application. The only complaint from my daughter was that the wipes were cold [something that is an easy fix]. Then the tattoo just peels off the wax sheet just like a sticker and is applied to the area of skin you chose. No water needed and you KNOW you’re not going to miss a chunk of the tattoo like with regular ones. LOVE THIS: Simple, NO WATER, literally a QUICK STICK. I would recommend this for parents going to big events or on vacations with their children.
They even have halloween themed tats and you still have time to order them! The customer service at this company is phenomenal and they ship your custom tattoos quickly and with care.
Check out all of Safety Tats products HERE.

Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil Review/Giveaway

I received one quart of Gold Label Coconut Oil to review and was so excited to find out that I also get to give one away! Before first, let me give you the lowdown on this AMAZING product. When I received it I was eager to use it right away. In my home, we pretty much each omelets EVERY SINGLE MORNING. Normally, I use bacon grease or Pam to grease my iron pan before dropping down the fresh vegetables. Bacon grease works better than Pam at keeping all the veggies from sticking, but without fail when I pour in the eggs, everything starts sticking. Now, if I cake the pan and all the food in bacon grease, we don’t have issues, but who enjoys eating ¼ cup of bacon grease? YUCK!

So the first time I used the Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil was, of course, in our omelets. I only used one spoonful and let me tell you: A little goes a long way! Not only did it fill my kitchen with the faint smell of coconut, but the vegetables did not stick at all. Now for the real test: adding the eggs. I was so impressed at the easily movable omelet. Not a single piece of my omelet stuck to the pan and the omelet was the best I’ve ever eaten! Not only did it have a very slight taste of coconut, but it didn’t taste greasy, oily or fattening like the bacon grease makes you feel afterwards!

I like the fact that you are able to use such a small amount and get so much out of it! One pint would easily last my household of five ATLEAST a month. I’ve also used it on easier meals such as quick grilled cheese sandwiches. My four year old daughter even approved so it must be superior because she is a picky little eater!

Not only is coconut oil fantastic for cooking, it can  even used in body scrubs/body butters. I’m not sure if some of you know this, but my two hobbies are couponing and making soaps/body scrubs! For my body scrub I only used 3 ingredients: Sugar, Gold Label Coconut Oil and Coconut Fragrance Oil. It is not an oily scrub, like some scrubs that have avocado or apricot oil are. It made my skin feel smooth, revitalized and rejuvenated; something I truly enjoyed because I have eczema [a skin condition that usually results in scaly or itchy rashes].

So this is certainly a versatile product that can be used not only in the kitchen but on your sensitive skin, even in your hair! I LOVE products that have multiple uses, don’t you?!

Now for the fun part, we have the opportunity [thanks to Tropical Traditions] to actually let one of our readers try a quart of the Gold Label Coconut Oil for FREE! AWESOME, RIGHT? Entry details are below, but first check out some information straight from Tropical Traditions.
